DARK DISTORTIONS

Dark matter is the coolest thing you can imagine.

Now imagine being asked to make a new installation on this topic together with a cosmologist from University Leiden and ESA for Science Gallery Dublin.

Universiteit Leiden and Woven Studio combine art and science to uncover dark matter in front of your eyes. Cosmologist Henk Hoekstra, the ESA - European Space Agency and artist Thijs Biersteker – founder of Woven Studio – are creating a new kinetic sculpture for the renowned Science Gallery in Dublin about the discovery of Dark Matter.

The work ‘Dark Distortions’ will be the centrepiece of the exhibition INVISIBLE, on view from 13 March - 31 May 2020 in Science Gallery Dublin. The exhibition highlights the critical role of science, art and philosophy in imagining the unseen and questioning the invisible.
